There are two cakes in our featured section this week because we have been very busy around here. The first one was a surprise cake for a friend. Her husband ordered a music themed cake and they were both thrilled with the results. "It was more than I imagined" was his remark.
The second feature this week was a new adventure for us. The Halloween cupcakes featured were two different flavors including vanilla and pumpkin. The pumpkin cakes were topped with a cinnamon buttercream and the vanilla were topped with vanilla buttercream. We used mostly organic ingredients, though these could have been made completely organic. We used spices, food coloring, and fondant that was not organic only to keep the price down a little bit. The flavors were delicious and I think I may even like the organic frosting better than regular buttercream!
