There has always been a great debate in the cake world and I would like your opinion. Do you eat the fondant on a cake or do you peel it off and toss it???? I know many who do not like the taste and merely consider it a decoration, but I know others who think it is great and eat it up. Also, if you were ordering a cake, would you go with fondant covered or plain buttercream considering taste, appearance, and cost? Thanks for your thoughts.

I eat it sometimes. I don't really like marshmallows and since thats the type I've had it's not my favorite, I would say it's just a personal preference.

I personally do not like fondant. I peel and discard. However, I will say it has been many years since I've had fondant, so I am sure the taste has probably improved since then. From what I've seen, you can do sooo much with it, that it's worth using on any cake to get the desired outcome. But don't use more fondant than cake- lol!

AuthorCakes by Nadia came about after taking a few cake classes at a local store. I have become addicted to coming up with new ideas for cakes and "playing with my food" We live in Florida and have 3 young children who love to help me in the kitchen when they can. Even my husband likes to help out and of course they all enjoy sampling the outcome. Archives
